There are so many things to love about Halloween time but one of my favorites is decorating for the holiday. Today I’d like to share my fab-boo-lous Halloween party with you.

Supplies Used – Canvas Corp

Tattered Angels:

Other Materials:?13 in. craft pumpkin, small chipboard adhesive letters, orange and black felt, various buttons, orange and black embroidery threads.

Tools used: Hot-glue gun, scissors, X-Acto knife and embroidery needle

For the banner, I first started by tracing out the entire shape of the flag onto a piece of scrap paper. I then measured in about a ? inch all around, and while using a ruler I sketched a second flag to use as my template. I cut out the inner shape with an X-Acto knife. I then used the template to trace and cut out the paper flags. I stitched a border onto the paper flags and hot glued them to the canvas flags.

For the rosettes, I used the black and orange ticking fabric, which I cut horizontally into 1? in. wide by 24 in. long strips. I folded each strip in half, while securing with hot glue. I then fringed the looped edge of the fabric with scissors.

I cut a 2 in. circle out of felt to use as my base for the rosette. Starting at the outer edge of the circle, I attached the end of the fringed ticking fabric strip. Turning the circle, I continuously glued the fabric strip on, in a spiral direction towards the center of the circle. I attached a button in the center as a finishing touch.

I then painted the chipboard letters black, let dry and attached the rosettes and letters to the banner. Finally, I fringed felts the same way I did for the rosettes, and glued them to the top of each flag.

The pumpkin was my favorite to make. I painted it with Tattered Angels Décor &; DIY Zinc paint, such a beautiful color. I then made various flowers out of canvas and burlap using my Sizzix Bigz Flower Layer #12 die. For the rest I made rolled paper roses and handmade felt flowers. I then arranged and glued them onto the pumpkin.

Finally for the treat bags I used both the Tattered Angels Zinc and Amber paints. For the “BOO” on the bags, I used the capital “B” chipboard letter as a template to trace onto the canvas bags. I then painted them in and stitched a border around the “B” with embroidery thread. Finally I glued on buttons and pom-poms for the “OO”s. There are a number of ways to decorate these fun bags. Stripes, polka dots or pumpkin faces are just a few ideas. I then lettered some cute chalkboard tags that I attached to the bags with buttons.

Some other party elements I designed are masks and hats for the crow and pumpkins. Cute cupcake toppers that I made into pumpkins and for the witch brooms I used twine tassels that I trimmed and attached to twigs. I also used glittered acorns, cheesecloth, paper mache spiders and black lanterns. The possibilities are endless.

Happy Holiday crafting and wishing you a Fab-BOO-lous Halloween!

Babies get all the great gifts and the new mother sometimes gets overlooked. ?Our nanny recently had her first baby and we already gave plenty of cute gifts for baby and hand-me down baby gear. ?So, when we got the chance to go meet baby for the first time, I was determined to bring the new mommy the perfect gift.
